2021 VAT Reforms: An Update on Urelas' EU orders

1ST JULY 2021 UPDATE: we continue shipping to the EU via a partner intermediaryBut while we wait for our IOSS number to be generated, our customers will be required to pay the VAT on the items they receive.

As per a regulation instated by the European Union. From July 1, 2021, all goods arriving into EU member states from non-EU countries (including the UK), regardless of their value, will be subject to VAT.

This means that most Urelas orders will also be subject to a VAT that is to be paid by the consumer as our orders are shipped from the UK, US and Hong Kong to majority of Europe.

Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) is a scheme that will be implemented across all countries in the EU from 1 July 2021. Participants of the scheme will be able to collect VAT on behalf of EU customers importing from outside the EU.

At Urelas, we have already applied for an IOSS and are currently awaiting an approval from the applied EU member state.

However, while our participation is in progress. All orders to the EU will be subject to a VAT + additional admin charges to be paid by the customer on delivery. The order could also face potential delays as the customs authorities will be prioritisng IOSS-registered orders.

In light of these sudden and seemingly unclear changes, we will be providing our EU customers with a relaxed returns and exchange policy. If you're facing any issues with your order, please contact our award-winning support team for more help.
